In dentistry, a cosmetic makeover is a multi-treatment plan tailored to suit your own unique needs, and designed to address every aspect of your smile that you’re unsatisfied with. Because the process involves a combination of cosmetic and restorative procedures, cosmetic makeovers are different for every patient. Our goal at New Essence Dentistry, however, is always the same with every makeover: to do everything we can to help our patients feel proud and confident in their smiles.
Your cosmetic makeover can be as extensive or as subtle as you would like, as we customize every plan to suit each individual patient. Hopefully, though, your cosmetic makeover will result in you having the smile of your dreams, boosting your confidence and commitment to oral health.
Some of the services and treatments that could go into your cosmetic makeover include:
- teeth whitening
- dental implants
- dental crowns
- dental bonding, shaping, and contouring
- clear aligner therapy

Depending on what procedures you decide on, your duration of your cosmetic makeover can vary. If you require clear aligner therapy, like ClearCorrect or Invisalign, you’re looking at a straight, beautiful smile in about a year, plus whatever other treatments we’ve planned together. If you’re not undergoing any orthodontic work, however, most makeovers only end up taking 2-3 visits, allowing our trusted dental labs to create any prosthetics and for your mouth to heal from any preliminary treatments, such as dental implant placements.
Like most aspects of cosmetic makeovers, the recovery time and process will vary for every patient. However, we can offer you advice on aftercare for some of our more common services and procedures.
- Dental Crowns: avoid chewy, sticky, or hard foods, and try to shift your chewing to the opposite side of your new crown for at least 24 hours after placement.
- Teeth Whitening: for the first 24 hours, stay away from dark liquids like coffee, tea, and wine, as well as from teeth-staining foods like fruits, berries, and chocolate. The longer you avoid these kinds of foods and drinks, the longer your whitening treatment will stay pristine and bright.
- Dental Veneers: dental veneers don’t require any special treatment after being placed, but keeping up good oral hygiene habits, like brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist, will go a long way towards extending the life of your veneers.
